A photographic registry of numbered parking spots in Arnhem. This is 02-068.
I parked my bicycle outside Arnhem Centraal station. The next morning, it was gone.
Station workers had no information. I filed a police report for theft. The case was closed due to lack of evidence. I bought a new bicycle.
The new bicycle disappeared as well.
Two months later, I discovered AFAC—a company that tows bicycles from the station area. Neither the station nor the police had informed me of its existence.
On June 21, 2023, I retrieved both bicycles. The fine was €70.
After that, I began parking in the underground garage. Each parking cell has a number. Each time, I photograph the number.
AFAC tow trucks arrive irregularly. They take entire clusters of bicycles at once. Signs prohibit parking but don't mention where bicycles are taken.
Bicycles left at AFAC for 90 days are sold at a secondhand shop called 2Switch.
This is documentation of a ritual born from an invisible system.
Each photograph is a record. Each number is evidence. This is the documentation.
Each zine contains 50 parking cells photographed between June 2023 and December 2024. This is evidence that I was here. That the spot existed. That the system is real.
Each zine ships in a labeled bubble envelope with 02-068 sticker. Numbered edition. Free shipping within EU.
